“The Natural State”

Slap on a pair of jeans and your best t-shirt and come hear Conway Women’s Chorus celebrate “Arkansas”.  Listen as the ladies sing about our state’s natural beauties. Riversong and Irving Berlin’s Blue Skies will transport you to an early spring afternoon “sittin’ on the porch”.

If toe-tappin’ is more your style, clap along as they sing a medley of folk and bluegrass favorites – Sourwood Mountain, Cripple Creek, Old Joe Clark and more. A little dancing from the audience is encouraged!

To round off the show, the chorus will sing our state songs. Surprisingly, we have four and one that almost made it. Wayland Holyfield has even sent us an unpublished arrangement of his classic Arkansas, You Run Deep in Me. We will share the stories from each song and may have a question or two for the trivia enthusiasts out there.

There will even be a t-shirt contest and prize for the very best ARKANSAS t-shirt. So drag out an old favorite, borrow your best friend’s or be creative and wow the judges! The only entry rule is the name “Arkansas” must be on the shirt.
